The Minister of Health, Ana Paula Martins, stated this Monday, November 17th, that minimum services will be decreed in the SNS during the general strike on December 11th, given the announced adherence of doctors and nurses.
“I heard from the news that there would be two unions, one for doctors and the other for nurses, joining the strike and we will naturally do what is also stipulated in the law”, that is, “guarantee minimum services”stated the minister.
Despite recognizing the impact of previous strikes, the minister said that “minimum services” have been ensured, praising the collaboration of health professionals.
“We managed to maintain minimum services and we managed to negotiate and people collaborate. Health professionals have a lot of civic awareness and we see this when we have a pandemic, catastrophe, accident [ou] a blackout, in the most disruptive things, when healthcare professionals are called, they never fail”he stressed.
